Koh Chang is not a one-price island. Where you sleep and when you come matter most, and the rest is small, clear costs. Here are the figures we can stand behind, and the ones we would rather you ask about.
It depends mostly on where you sleep and which month you come. Koh Chang can be done on a modest budget, because the big pleasures here are the sea, the jungle and the sunset, and most of the extras are small, fixed fees of a few hundred baht.
We can give you firm numbers for bungalows, transport and park fees below. We have not listed meal prices, because they vary from one kitchen to the next. Ask the team or check the menu before you order.
Where you sleep
Your bed is the biggest cost, and it changes with the season. At Paradise Cottage, high season runs from October to May and green season from June to September. These are estimated rates per bungalow per night, with 7% VAT included:
- Front Sea View bungalow, air conditioning: ฿1,500 to ฿2,500 in high season, ฿800 to ฿1,200 in green season.
- Garden Bungalow, fan: ฿1,000 to ฿1,800 in high season, ฿500 to ฿900 in green season.
These are estimates. The actual price depends on your dates and how busy we are, so message the team on WhatsApp for a real figure. Children under 12 stay free without an extra bed, which helps families.
To work out a stay, take the nightly estimate for the bungalow and season you like and multiply it by the number of nights. Then ask us for the real price for your dates. You can see the options on our stay page.
The pool, the hammocks in the salas, free Wi-Fi and a safe are part of the stay. You are not paying extra for the things you will use most.
Getting here and around
The journey is a set of small fares rather than one large one. From Bangkok, a bus from Ekkamai starts from about ฿329. A minivan from Suvarnabhumi Airport costs about ฿700, plus about ฿50 to be dropped at Lonely Beach. The car ferry crossing costs around ฿80 to ฿90 per person. Flying to Trat with Bangkok Airways varies by date. Every option is laid out in our Bangkok to Koh Chang guide.

Once you are here, shared songthaew taxis run along the main road. Agree the price before you get in, and carry some cash. Motorbikes are easy to rent, but the hills are steep, so only ride if you are experienced. The team can arrange taxis, motorbike hire and tours.
Days out and their fees
Most outings come with a clear, fixed fee:
- Klong Plu waterfall: ฿200 for foreign visitors, open 08:00 to 16:30. The same ticket covers Than Mayom, which opens 09:00 to 16:30, on the same day.
- Koh Rang snorkelling: the trip price varies by boat and season, so ask. The marine park fee of ฿200 is usually on top, and fins rent for around ฿100 if they are not included.
- Three-island trip to the Koh Wai area: usually cheaper than Koh Rang, leaving about 10:30 and returning around 16:00.
- Kayaking the mangroves at Salak Khok: a double kayak is around ฿200 an hour.
- Yoga: at Blue Lagoon in Klong Prao, drop-in classes are ฿300, from November to April.
So a waterfall day costs about two hundred baht in fees, plus transport. A snorkelling day is the one to budget for, because the boat price is the part we cannot quote you here.

What costs nothing
Some of the best things on the island are free:
- The sunset. Every beach on the west coast faces it, and the deck at Paradise Cottage is a good seat.
- Klong Neung and Khiri Phet waterfalls in the Salak Phet area. Khiri Phet is an easy walk from the road.
- A swim, a hammock and a book.
- Walking the Bang Bao pier, where the day's catch sits on ice out front.
Our waterfall guide explains which falls charge and which do not.
Spending less, sensibly
Come in the green season, roughly June to September, for the lowest bungalow rates. The trade-off is rain and some rough seas on the west coast, as we explain in our guide to when to visit. October sits in our high season rates, but the rain is easing and the island is quiet.
Choose a Garden Bungalow with a fan if you do not need air conditioning. Take the cheaper three-island trip rather than the Koh Rang run if you are watching your budget. Use one national park ticket for both waterfalls on the same day. Book the longer stay, too: once you slow down, the daily spend drops, because a day of pool, hammock and a long lunch costs very little.
Prices for boat trips, taxis and meals change by season and by operator. Message the team on WhatsApp or ring +66 95 149 5935, and we will tell you what to expect before you commit.
When you are ready, send a booking request through our booking page.
